What you can expect as an Operations Research Analyst at Fortress:
As an Operations Research Analyst, your role is pivotal in steering complex analytical studies within the realm of acquisition logistics. With a solid foundation in operations research methods and applied mathematics, you will tackle intricate logistics problems, innovating and applying advanced techniques. Your expertise will not only be applied to conducting and supervising comprehensive analytical investigations but also to consulting management on strategic decisions. A significant part of your responsibility lies in validating the technical aspects of studies, ensuring they align with the advancements in integrated logistics support (ILS) management.
Responsibilities include:
- Utilize operations research methods and mathematical techniques to analyze acquisition logistics problems.
- Develop new techniques in applied mathematics.
- Complete or supervise analytical studies.
- Conduct analytical investigations and develop analysis methods and techniques.
- Act as a management consultant.
- Manage mathematical operations related to acquisition logistics.
- Ensure the technical validity of studies.
- Advise acquisition logistics personnel on study results and implications, especially concerning advances in scientific knowledge and techniques in fields applicable to integrated logistics support (ILS) management.
- Document and communicate results, recommendations, and summaries both orally and in writing.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- At least two (2) years of experience in weapon systems acquisition analysis or logistics analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of operations research methodologies and techniques.
- Comprehensive understanding of acquisition logistics and its intricacies.
- Familiarity with integrated logistics support (ILS) management and its advancements.
- Knowledge of weapon systems acquisition and logistics analysis.
- Understanding of mathematical modeling and analytical methods pertinent to logistics issues.
- Awareness of scientific knowledge advancements in fields applicable to ILS management.
- Must hold a minimum clearance of "Secret."
- Experience working with or within Navy Program Office(s)
- Bachelor's degree
